Patricia A. Weinberg is the founder and director of Supportive Family Services. She provides Clinical Supervision to her Associates and Therapists in Training (Interns), as well as to external Psychotherapists. Patricia is a Psychotherapist registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She is a member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP), as well as a former Clinical and Board Member of the Canadian Association of Psychoanalytic Child Therapists (CAPCT). She completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, in addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Psychology, as well as an Ontario Graduate Certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science (high honours) and an advanced certificate in Family Mediation.
Patricia has worked in several settings such as hospitals, mental health institutions, treatment centres, group homes, daycares, nursery schools, private and public schools. She has provided mental health services since 1996, to adults, teenagers, children, couples, and families in Canada and abroad, which makes her very respectful of diversity, both in ability and culture. She is always advocating for the well-being of families and its individual members.
Patricia is continuously learning new strategies, approaches and theories participating in different workshops and trainings. As she received part of her formal education, courses and professional development abroad, as well as in Canada, her approach is unique, combining psychodynamics with a behavioural theory. She provides long-term therapy as well as brief therapy, according to the client’s needs.
She speaks fluently English and Spanish, providing her services in both languages.
