    Himel is a Registered Psychotherapist and a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals.  His speciality primarily involves working with people with anxiety, depression, and a wide range of emotional issues.  He also holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and a Counselling Skills Certification.  As part of continuing professional development, he has obtained a mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) practitioner certification, a hypnotherapy certification, and telehealth training.

    Himel’s approach to psychotherapy is evidence-based, trauma informed and involves creating a safe and non-judgemental space, and, collaboratively, coming up with a plan that suits his clients.  He often integrates therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Psychodynamic.  He has been practicing mindfulness for the last 7 years and often uses

    mindfulness-based approaches with his clients.

    Himel is also culturally sensitive in his therapeutic approach, and, other than English, he is fluent in Bengali, and can provide services in both languages.
