Supportive Family Services is a group private practice that provides quality Counselling, Psychotherapy and Psychological Services to Adults, Children, Teenagers, Families and Couples. We have associates and therapists in training of diverse cultural background, which gives us the opportunity to reach people who prefer to have their sessions in their native language. Currently we offer services in English, Spanish and Bengali. Having associates and therapists in training also allows us to offer different therapeutic approaches to suit different situations and needs.

We help our patients to move forward and make positive changes in their lives, focusing on their strengths, abilities and feelings. We can help you and your loved ones improve relationships, behaviours and academic performance, as well as to deal positively with difficult situations and work on emotional issues.

Since January 2015 we have incorporated to our practice, students from a Master in Counselling Psychology program. The students join Supportive Family Services the last semester of their program to do their practicum under the supervision of Patricia A. Weinberg. This allows us to offer services at a reduced fee conducted by our Therapists in Training.

Thanks to the supervision of our external Psychologists, we can offer Psychological Services for those patients who might need it. We also offer Psychological Assessments and Treatment Plans for people who were involved in motor vehicle accidents (MVA) or work-related accidents (WSIB).

At Supportive Family Services we believe in collaborative care for better mental health. That is why we are members of Psychotherapy Matters Virtual Clinic, which connects us and our patients with psychiatrists and family doctors, through psychiatric consultations. When necessary, you benefit from a diagnosis, medication recommendations or monitoring, performed by a psychiatrist, while continuing with your psychotherapy treatment provided by one of our team members. Once you are in treatment and have discussed with your therapist and Family Doctor or Pediatrician the need of a psychiatry consultation, the wait is usually only 2-4 weeks.
